Meet Christine: A Story of Resilience, Hope, and a New Smile

Everyone, meet Christine! Christine is an inspiring woman who is bravely facing the challenges of being on the transplant list, waiting for a new heart. She came to our dental clinic for medical clearance to be placed on the transplant list, and during her visit, she shared her incredible story with us.

In June 2022, Christine suffered a heart attack that landed her in the hospital for over a month and a half. During her long hospital stay, she wasn’t able to wear her dentures, which caused discomfort and left her feeling self-conscious. That’s when she turned to Good Neighbor House for help.

Christine needed new dentures that would fit properly and give her back her smile. Our team went above and beyond to ensure she received the care and attention she needed. As Christine said, “The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. It’s really nice when they know you by name.”

She was so grateful for the care she received, and she shared, “I’m so happy to have a new smile in time for Christmas.” It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do — to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Christine’s journey doesn’t stop with her new smile. She is now hoping to have a new heart and a new life by next Christmas. And her first big goal after the transplant? To go rock climbing — something she’s always wanted to do.

At Good Neighbor House, we are proud to be here for people like Christine, helping them get back on their feet and continue following their dreams. Whether it’s a new smile, a new chance at health, or a new beginning, we are honored to walk alongside our neighbors every step of the way.

We want to help others like Christine get their smile back, too. Together, we can make a difference and give our neighbors the support they need to live healthier, happier lives.
