Welcome to Good Neighbor House
Good Neighbor House provides a helping hand to those in need. Our goal is to lift people up, provide hope during difficult circumstances, and help people get on their feet. We are a bridge to self-sufficiency. We invite you to come on in, take a look around the website, and join us in this exciting endeavor.
Because of the extent of the renovation at our new site, Good Neighbor House has had to move the date of our opening for client services until Mid-February. Please do not leave donations at our new site. Volunteers will be notified when training will begin at the new location. If you are a client or caseworker in need of help, please contact HelpLink at 937-225-3000 for further assistance.
Please continue to keep this project, our staff, board and volunteers in your prayers. There are many exciting plans in place for this mission and God is continuing to show His blessing as we move into a new phase of giving the finest service we can give to those in our community.
We're Moving!
We can’t wait for you to visit us at our new home! To ensure a smooth and safe transition, Good Neighbor House will be closed beginning November 19, 2012 and excited to open our new doors on January 2, 2013!
Our new address will be 627 E. First Street in downtown Dayton.
If you are a client or potential client of Good Neighbor House, please call HELPLINK at 937-225-3000 for assistance during this time period. They will refer you to a partner agency.
Generous donors, friends, churches, staff and volunteers are the reason we were able to purchase this building, move, and have the ability to better serve our neighbors in need. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
Have a Blessed and Happy Holiday Season!

Clinic Physician/Nurse Practitioner Volunteers Needed!
The Good Neighbor House is a faith based community Healthcare Center that provides Dental, Medical and Eye services to uninsured, low income, working families throughout the Miami Valley. Due to the increased demand for services, we are experiencing a critical shortage of volunteers. If you are a Primary Care / Internal Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner, GNH offers you the opportunity to contribute and touch the lives of this underserved population in need. Hours of service are in the evenings so as not to affect your primary practice. Typically our volunteers donate three to four hours of their time once a month. If interested in learning more, please contact the clinic at 937-224-3442.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration, and God bless.
Featured Volunteer

- Volunteer: Jim Garber
Meet Jim Garber, a member of Centerville Seventh Day Adventist Church and a volunteer at Good Neighbor House for more than six years. He volunteered to help some fellow church members pick up the FoodBank order for us one day, and the rest is history. Today he still helps pick up the pantry stock as well as donations from various churches.
Jim likes volunteering partly because he enjoys getting out, seeing other people, and making new friends. "Good Neighbor House just happens to be full of people who are good to be around," he says.
Jim lives with his wife Carolyn (who sometimes brings goodies to volunteer events) and their furry child–a cat named Cali. Birdwatching is a favorite hobby.
Thank you, Jim, for all you do for Good Neighbor House!
