About Good Neighbor House
Good Neighbor House was founded out of a collaboration of eight Dayton area churches who desired to make a difference by helping to meet the needs of the underserved in the Dayton community So in 1994, the congregations came together to form the Good Neighbor House, a non profit organization that provided food pantry services, clothing, furniture and household items to underserved individuals and families in the Miami Valley. As the need for affordable healthcare increased within Dayton's working uninsured community, so did Good Neighbor House's vision.
In 1996, through partnerships and collaborations with various community organizations, GNH established a clinic dedicated to providing free medical, dental and vision services to the working uninsured community. In addition, the clinic offered health education and screenings to underserved families.
Today, Good Neighbor House offers a full range of provisional and health services to the community as we collaborate with over 140 local agencies to assist clients. Through the contributions of dedicated donors and volunteers the agency is funded and supported by monetary and in kind donations that help to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many throughout the Miami Valley.
