Mark your calendars for the 2008 Golf Outing!

Monday - August 4, 2008 - Yankee Trace

The 8th Annual Golf Outing was a spectacular success with a record amount of money raised for Good Neighbor House!!! We couldn't have hoped for better weather, more fun, or better food.

We want to thank all the players, sponsors, and volunteers for their generous support.

We even had a hole-in-one this year. See the "Little Dog Challenge" below for more details.

We have uploaded lots of pictures from this year's event, shown below. It may take a while to load, depending on your connection speed, but we hope you will enjoy the tour.

Our sports celebrities this year were David Fulcher and Icky Woods, retired great football players from the Cincinnati Bengals. They can smash the ball a long ways, and they hit booming drives and offered them to each team for a $20 donation as a way to help raise more money. It was wonderful for them to donate their time and talent to GNH, and we thank them for this wonderful gift.

We also enjoyed the participation of Channel 7 WHIO celebrities Don Brown (Sports) and Cathy Stelzer (weekend anchor) who added a lot of energy when it came time to pass out the awards and prizes. Thank you so much.

Mayor Dick Church of Miamisburg welcomed the golfers and offered the morning prayer and blessing.

The Little Dog Challenge and Hole-In-One!!!!

Congratulations to Alec “Little Dog” Velasco who is only 4’5” tall and weighs less than 65 pounds and an accomplished golfer. He is shown here with David Fulcher, one of our celebrity players.

The "Little Dog Challenge" was on the beautiful 4th green where Alec hit a drive with every group. If any of the other players hit their ball closer to the pin than Alec, their name was entered into a drawing for a large television.

In addition to raising lots of money, one of Alec's shots was a HOLE-IN-ONE, the second of his young career. WOW! What a wonderful talent.

We want to thank Alec for donating his time and talent for this event again this year. He is a superb golfer and a generous volunteer.

The "Little Dog Challenge" was generously sponsored this year by Huntington Bank, arranged by Les Neff.
