Disaster Response

The Good Neighbor House is a part of a national network that operates under agreements with the American Red Cross and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. We respond to disasters by collecting and distributing nonperishable food, blankets, cleaning supplies, personal care items as well as items that address the special needs of infants and small children, such as diapers, formula and baby food. GNH was able to send items to the victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and assisted many families who were displaced by the hurricane to the Dayton area.
